With the Handbag Awards upon us, we just wanted to reflect on what we discover every year.

Going into the sixth year of the IHDA, I think back to when this event got started. I realized there was a need for an event for the most over-saturated and most profitable market in fashion. Having been a handbag designer myself, I had entered countless competitions and always felt like I lost out to a shoe or a hat - or a bag that didn't fall into the same category as mine. By the time the first IHDA took place, I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with my first child and had pulled off an event beyond my dreams with over 300 global applicants, 400 attendees including the top handbag buyers and discovered a handful of designers that I knew - would be big.

Now, 6 years later with over 250 amazing finalists to call on, we are super excited to see who is going to be our next 'ones to watch.' Wait and see on June 13th. I know we can't wait either...
