La Mochila, the word for 'bag' in Spanish, is handcrafted from genuine python and draws its inspiration from Colombia's native tribes - from the Wayuu to Arhuaca. A modern take on the traditional craft, the mochila allows for versatile styling options.
The thin drawstring straps can be pulled closed for a hands-free backpack, or loosely knotted in the front for a comfortable shoulder bag. An external zipper allows for convenient access to daily essentials.
About Designer: MAPA Collective is a timeless and luxurious collection of exotic leather handbags and accessories handmade in Colombia. The founder, Maria-Paula Herrera, was born in the United States to Colombian parents. On her frequent travels to Bogota, Paula met artisans that are highly specialized in the art that is exotic leather craftsmanship. Inspired by their techniques, she set out to become a bridge between them and the broader fashion market. MAPA Collective designs focus on the beauty of exotic leather - the nature of the material results in no two handbags being the same.
