Inspired by the architecture of nature the Maple line gives honors to its name patron, the maple-tree: Resembling the fine veins of the iconic five-fingered leaf, the Maple Tote is marked by radiant cuts that shape and structure the main body. A distinctively unique design-element is the round loop-handle by which the Tote is worn either dangling down the wearers’ wrist, or held firmly in the hand. For every-day convenience there is an additional shoulder strap that allows you to keep your hands free. Two separate front pockets and a roomy interior make this mid-sized bag surprisingly spacious and super-stylish at the same time.
Gretchen Maple Metal Shopper, WS 163€, MSRP 399€, Italian calf leather
About Designer: Gretchen stands for leather accessories with a distinctly modern design language. Embracing a holistic concept, the sculptural aesthetics of the creations focuses on avant-garde shapes and precise cuts. Elaborate details such as hand-applied profiling s or architecturally shaped bottom constructions fuse with the softer body and create a new vision of a handbag.
Gretchen designer Anne-Christin Schmitt claims that „Design is only half of the equation. The other half is the material itself.“ Balanced material combinations of finest glazed and waxed calf leathers are therefore typical elements of the distinguished Gretchen style. The natural texture of these leathers exudes timeless luxury and makes the colorful collections vibrate vividly. The thoughtful balance between artistically constructed elements and wearable accessories aims to inspire the independent spirit of our days.
Headed by the designer Anne-Christin Schmitt and the co-founder Michael Georg Schmitt, Berlin-based Gretchen challenges the conventional and gives way to new concepts.
