Kuku Big Bag

The Tea handbag in Green

The Tea handbag made with dyed through veg-tanned leather. It is around 2mm thick and the leather wears beautifully after use. It has an adjustable strap and magnetic snaps to close in a quirky little cross fold top. It is inspired by the Chinese takeaway box. It is made using traditional leather working techniques of saddle stitching by one designer/maker. It is made in the sunny studio with a terrace overlooking the gorgeous Newcastle Upon Tyne.

About Designer: Kuku Big Bag celebrates the art of traditional leather crafts with a modern take on leather accessories, satchels, backpacks and bicycle panniers. Each piece is professionally crafted by one maker using the traditional method of saddle stitching. They are designed for creative professionals who desire quality, functional products in a minimalist style of bold, contrasting colours and a juxtaposition of shapes to make an aesthetic statement. Kuku Big Bag is inspired first and foremost by contemporary designs and lifestyle. Starting in the Netherlands and eventually moving to the UK, Kuku Big Bag has been highly influenced by these cities and its creative culture, their love for functional design and most important of all, their products that are designed around their mobile, cycling culture. These influences of contemporary, minimalist, functional designs ideas eventually set the boundaries of the Kuku Big Bag creative language.
