It was one sweltering weekend in San Diego, weaving her way through a sea of 50,000 sweaty superhero wannabes at ComicCon that Ketti realized her camera bag - that big black brick she was lugging around - was not only ugly, it was bulky, awkward and told every pickpocket in the Gaslamp Quarter that it was probably worth taking. Ketti had been making handbags for years. It was that moment she decided to smush that together with her passion for photography and create a camera bag any girl worth her salt in style would love to carry around.
Ketti Phillips earned her Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design from Cal State Northridge, and has an background in photography and graphic design. She is inspired by vintage design, colors and textures can be seen through the design of each bag. It all starts with a size in mind - how much camera gear should one design hold. The exterior design evolves, always with the function in mind, but with a higher value placed on form.
Ketti Handbags is just beginning to bloom. New styles of camera bags are being developed as well as additional accessories.
