ETERNAPRIMAVERA

EternaPrimavera is a 100% handmade Guatemalan company, which has its very own purpose of promoting the development of Guatemalan communities and the preservation of our very own Mayan culture. It is the result of many visits to different towns in Guatemala, the never ending affair for handmade hüipiles. A "hüipil" is a garment, or blouse, used by Indigenous groups, which consists of an embroidery in silk threads, representing their beloved figures and colors of the region. Every piece in the collection is a mixture of hüipil and leather. Each hüipil is unique and represents different regions and towns in Guatemala, and it takes about 3 months to make it.

It was the love and interest to spread it around the world for other people to get to know this beautiful art and to stop it from being a tradition that could be lost in time, the reason behind EternaPrimavera is what it is today. The designs behind every bag are results of imagination, creativity and wanting to display the hüipil the best way possible. It has been a process of learning through experiences and trying to deliver the best finished product to clients.

"The inspiration and the trigger that activated the urge to want to work with these hüipiles, were the people. The fact that they carry their own pieces of art everyday to represent their culture and their beliefs, with such a grace, is what motivated us to want to sparead to the world something that is still so pure. Because of the evolution and the importance nowadays of fashion, the way our people dress has been compromised. They have evolved as well and left their traditional garment aside. What motivates us everyday is to support these communities, both economically and socially, so we never loose something that is our root to our Mayan culture."

Every piece in the collection is a mixture of hüipil and leather. Each hüipil is unique and represents different regions and towns in Guatemala, and it takes about 3 months to make it. Every bag is designed to fit and get the most out of every hüipil, which is the most important part of our bags.

These days, EternaPrimavera is working on new designs and materials for spring and summer. Constantly working on approaching the US market, and start from there to different parts of the world.
