I cannot thank this fabulous resource website enough for branching out into shoes. What handbag harlot worth her Orla is immune to the immaculate match of shoes and bags. Add your dinky little baby handbag (wallet), and just happen to have to pull it out in the elevator when some rather green eyes are already burning a hole in your Burberry, and you are in the holy trinity of fashionista heaven. Some things in life you cant buy...for everything else, there's "Bag Borrow or Steal" or ebay!
But for every shoe addict, living on a diet of cornflakes and walking everywhere for a month is not even a question when you simply have to have them. I want to share with you the shoes that kept me on a 2 hour round trip from my home to my work for 6 weeks on a diet of leftovers from the restaurant I worked in. It was the happiest 6 weeks of my life, knowing one day I would be buying my Christian Louboutin 'Prive pailette platforms' I didn't care which color, I would settle with the first ones which came into the sale in a size 35 (best thing about being a midget, my shoes are always 50% off).
If you are reading this Im sure you are already well aware of Louboutin. Louboutin shoes are hand made in France. Christian is an artisan cobbler and has always famously said "I am not a fashion designer, I am a shoe maker." A charming man who shot to fame with David Lynch's fetish exhibition and collaborations with Largerfeld, followed by absolutely every designer you ever heard of.
I admire Louboutin for his integrity, beauty, and joy, he always seems to be so deliriously happy. So would I be if I was surrounded in Louboutin shoes. He claims the secret of his success is the happiness of all Louboutin workers.
“If you do luxury, you have to treat people in a human way and you have to be elegant. You can’t ask poor people in bad conditions to make beautiful things.”
– high-end shoe designer Christian Louboutin in "Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster."
AMEN Christian. All designer/makers should have a pair of your shoes! (small sacrifices add up slowly to $1000, or $500 in Nordstrom's sale! Mine were actually $375 on final sale)
